How to Maximise Your Self-esteem

Many people do not feel confident about how to improve their self-esteem and this may be for two predominant reasons. Firstly, we are not always sure of the difference between self-esteem and self-confidence, and secondly, we are not very certain about how to improve our own esteem. This tape explains exactly what self-esteem is. It provides you with a definition and then goes on to explain why it is so important to build up our own esteem as well as trying to enhance the esteem of others.

The tape then goes on to explain how we learn esteem as children and that in adulthood a certain amount of damage can be done to it. This happens through experiences at which we fail or are rejected and from what people say to us. Building a buffer from which to deflect these events may sound fantastic but it is actually a help to think of ourselves as less vulnerable than we think and therefore more capable.

We also need to recognise the power of self-talk or our inner voice. There is a positive one who appears less frequently and there is a negative one who for most of us is a more frequent occurrence. It is important to recognise who is in charge or control of these voices and accept that our own experiences and self-doubts fuel much of it. We need to counteract these negatives and enhance the positive in our lives particularly if we want to re-build self-esteem. To simply maintain it, we need to learn some quick tips and these are also contained on the site.

Would you like to know more about stress? This CD helps explain what stress is, how we are all susceptible to it but that it can be a positive too. Stress is commonly perceived to be a problem for ‘some’ rather than a natural by-product of living for us all. To understand it better, it is important to learn about four stages.

Firstly, it is vital to have a definition of stress. A definition helps to explain what stress is, and what it isn’t. Otherwise it’s quite possible to be intimidated by the subject and to believe some of the myths that surround it. In other words, that we are all ‘suffering’ from stress and that to be stressed is always a negative. In fact, our bodies thrive on a moderate amount of adrenaline and this is a positive.

It is possible though that we can push ourselves or our immune system too far and this early warning sign manifests itself in the form of symptoms. Symptoms help us determine the positive and negative side effects of too much stress or stimulation and they are the subject of the second section on the CD. We need to understand what to look for in ourselves and others and to use some simple techniques to reduce or ‘manage’ these symptoms.

Thirdly, we need to learn that sources or triggers of stress are routinely around us all the time. There isn’t much we can do about that because certain triggers like noise, cold, traffic, other people, going to work etc are necessities and usually have to be accepted as part of everyday living. This is why stress is such a normal process. However, frequent exposure to stressors that upset or ‘distress’ us are important to keep an account of and to moderate their effects. Otherwise we are too regularly or intensively exposed to them and hence we will experience more symptoms. Management techniques like relaxation and exercise are then unlikely to be enough. This is why many people do not find audio tapes that deliver whale music, the whole answer!

Finally, we need to understand that the biggest ingredient in both the experience and management of stress is US! We are the key to either helping or hindering this process and this is explained further on the CD. So, if you are looking for something that explains stress and helps you to know what to do about it please visit the on-line shop and purchase a stress CD. I am sure you will not be disappointed or you will receive your money back!
